Sherpa Design MOVES to Eastside Portland

Portland, Oregon – December 20, 2023 – Sherpa Design, a provider of design and engineering services, is excited to announce the acquisition of a great building in the vibrant east side of Portland. This relocation comes as Sherpa Design experiences significant growth, taking on new clients, expanding its full-time employee headcount, and increasing capabilities in its CNC machine shop and in-house 3D printing.

With the company's growth stretching capacity at the current location in the St. Johns area's old Columbia Sportswear building, Sherpa has been actively searching for a new home. "Finding flex space in the greater Portland area that can accommodate both office and light manufacturing has proven to be a challenge," noted Patrick Barrett, Owner and CEO of Sherpa Design.

After an extensive search, Sherpa Design found the perfect building and completed the purchase agreement in October. Expressing excitement, Patrick Barrett stated, "We are extremely happy with the new building and are delighted to be back in the heart of this great city." Located in the central east side of Portland, the newly acquired building provides ample space for Sherpa Design's expanding operations. The ground floor will house their Carbon 3D printing and CNC Precision Machine Shop, while the second floor will be dedicated to product development teams. The top floor will serve administrative employees and client meeting spaces, ensuring a seamless workflow and enhanced collaboration.

Sherpa Design's new address is 224 SE 2nd Ave, Portland, OR 97214. The move to the new building began in the last week of October with the engineering and administration teams. The 3D printing department move is planned for late December and the Machine Shop is scheduled to move in late January 2024. An open house event will be announced in the new year, offering an opportunity for nearby clients and the local business community to explore the expanded premises and meet the Sherpa Design team. The additional space will significantly contribute to Sherpa Design's ability to serve their clients even better while accommodating future growth.
